Gaming is fashionable. Fashionable usually applies to the youth culture, but does it in this instance? Take a closer look at the reasons below and you may suddenly realize that actually the adults are really the target audience for strategy PC games?
1. Downloadable online purchases - If games are only available on line to be downloaded, then you must be expected to pay for them with a credit card. Since credit cards are only issued to adults, surely that means that the target audience for down loadable games has got to be adults?
I love Buying online, I don't have to deal with acne infected teenagers who think that being over 21 means that you are on the way to the care home, in shops with music blasting so loudly that they would not be able to answer a customers questions in the rare situation they decided to serve a customer.
2. Requirement to think - Strategy PC games are about thinking and working out and around problems. Definitely designed for adults, kids games are more about shooting or collecting things, aren't they?
They are also a wonderful way to wind down from your hectic day either at work or with the kids. A glass of wine in one hand and a problem to solve in a fantastical world - perfect.
3. Using your spare time - It seems that most kids today spend their spare time either on social networking sites or online chat. Strategy games are perfect for time when you don't want demands put on you, you don't want other people, you just need a little uninterrupted 'me time'. These are a great way to escape from the demands of the real world.
Now you can get started on your new hobby. First you need to decided on which game you want to start with. Find a site with lots of games on and have a read to find out what each game is about, and then just down load one which you like to sound of.
A little word of warning, the games producers are quite prolific, especially the companies such as Big Fish Games who seem to have a game about just about anything you can think of! So allow yourself plenty of time to choose a game and don't just rush at the first one you find.
